Reading and Writing
Although there is a separate module for writing on this site, reading and writing inherently go together and provide support for each other (and other language skills). When students read what they and their peers write, the task meets more of the engagement principles and has a greater chance of engaging students.

Have students make text-based movies at zimmertwins.com, and then have them read each others' and answer questions or vote on the best one. This task incorporates reading, writing, interest, creativity, and more!
Because students have lots of choices, this software helps teachers meet engagement guidelines. The screen shot below shows the opening screen of the Web site where students can choose what to do - read "watch", create, or play games.
